Start From Scratch Calgary

It's a new year! A brand new year! We're happy to say that we're back and better than ever, heading into our 5th year of the Start From Scratch program. Since kicking off in 2011, we've had hundreds of students accepted into the initiative, all better cooks today because of it.

With our Calgary winter sessions beginning on Tuesday, February 3rd, we're looking for post-secondary students from SAIT, University of Calgary and Mount Royal University to apply for our free 10 week hands-on culinary program.

Over the 10 weeks, you'll learn the cooking basics and how to build on them, getting more and more creative in your kitchen. You don't want to eat pre-packaged macaroni and cheese your whole life, right?

The classes take place at our program sponsor, Calgary Co-op's downtown location on 11th Ave and 11th St. Aside from having a ton of fun cooking with instructors, Vincci Tsui and Dan Clapson, you'll also meet some very talented local chefs like Karine Moulin, Duncan Ly, Mel Lafleur, Kerry Bennett and more.

What do you have to lose? Pretty much nothing, so apply now!

There are only 30 spots for our winter session, so make sure to fill out the application form to the best of your ability. We want to see your personality and see why you would benefit from 10 weeks of cooking classes.
